The match between Biology and
KHE Departments saw KHE dominating possession and ultimately securing a 3-1
victory. Despite KHE's superior play, it was Biology who opened the scoring. A
penalty was awarded after a challenge by a KHE defender, and Ayodele Taiwo converted with
ease in the 11th minute.
KHE responded swiftly to the early
setback. Intense pressure led to a goal by Opadeji Bemiwo in the 19th minute.
Shortly after, Ayodele Taiwo of Biology was booked for a silly foul. KHE
continued to press and extended their lead in the 25th minute when Awoyemi
Shakiru calmly slotted the ball past the helpless Biology goalkeeper. The first
half ended with KHE in control.
The second half saw KHE maintaining their dominance. They tested the Biology goalkeeper and added a third goal in the 31st minute, scored by Lawal David. KHE's Ashimi Semilore received a yellow card in the 52nd minute for an infringement on a Biology player.
The game ended 3-1 in favor of KHE as Awoyemi Shakiru was awarded the man of the match. KHE completed the group stage with a perfect record, becoming the only team to have a 100% win rate in this year’s edition of CUSPOF. They will face Physics in the semi-final on Monday, 22nd of July, 2024. Biology, on the other hand, will aim for a better performance next year as they bow out of the competition.
