In a closely contested match, the CRS Department emerged victorious over
the Chemistry Department with a 3-1 win. Both teams enjoyed a fair share of
possession, but it was CRS who capitalized on their opportunities to secure
the victory.
Chemistry took an early lead in the 6th minute with a stunning free-kick
from about 35 meters out, expertly delivered by Funso. However, the lead
was short-lived as CRS found an equalizer 11 minutes later from the
penalty spot.
CRS quickly turned the game in their favor, scoring their second goal in
the 21st minute. They continued their momentum and rounded off the first
half with another goal, making it 3-1.
The second half was a back-and-forth tussle between the two teams, with
both goalkeepers making impressive saves to keep their teams in the
game. Despite the efforts from both sides, no further goals were added,
and the match ended 3-1 in favor of CRS.
The final whistle confirmed a 3-1 win for CRS, highlighting their
clinical finishing and solid defensive play. Samuel Olorunlogbon of CRS
was awarded the man of the match for his outstanding performance.
CRS on 3 points will be aiming to defeat Physics who is on 4 points in
their last group match to secure a place in the semi-finals next week.
Meanwhile, Chemistry with no point will be playing for pride against English
who has 4 points in their last group game.
