CUSPORF 2024 MATCH 5 REPORT: ENGLISH VS PHYSICS

 

In a thrilling encounter, the English Department and the Physics Department played a goalless draw, with both teams earning a point to bring their group stage totals to 4 points each.

From the outset, the English Department appeared to be the better side, dominating possession and creating numerous chances. However, their inability to convert opportunities into goals proved to be their downfall. English had a total of nine shots, with only two on target. They hit the woodwork twice in the first half, coming agonizingly close to opening the scoring.

Physics, on the other hand, displayed determination and resilience. Despite being outplayed in terms of possession, they managed to create five shots, with two on target. Both teams committed a fair share of fouls, with English committing eight and Physics committing ten, resulting in two yellow cards each.

The goalkeepers for both sides made crucial saves to keep the match level, with each goalkeeper making two saves. English's striker, Samuel, had a particularly frustrating game, missing three clear-cut chances that could have sealed the win for his team.
